Lake Erie & Southern operates October 24, 1963
LE&S operates 10/24. The company is waiting for the Interstate Commerce Commission to approve the proposed merger of the Lake Erie And Southern Railroad and the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. Probably won’t happen, most likely would be approved in 1964. However the LE&S always operates in 1963. Carloadings have remained high with the fall harvest starting. Bridge traffic is still good Passenger business holding at profitable levels with help of the USPS contract. The road will let the Vault handle the meal, unless management comes up with another idea.
