This railroad is based on the BNSF mainlines between Newport and Fridley in the Twin Cities. This is the perfect model railroad prototype as it has every industry you could ever want on a model railroad. The big western class 1 railroads all play a role here with 2 big yards generating traffic.  The Minnesota Commercial (MNNR) manages terminal switching with a unique roster of engines.  Lots of train variety, passenger and commuter service, industry switching and interchange will keep operators busy on the rails..

About Dave Burman

Born into the hobby, my first toy was a wooden steam locomotive. I can't remember a time when I/We didn't have a railroad of some sort in the basement or garage. Waterloo, Iowa native, I should be modeling the IC, CGW and RI as thats what I railfanned as a kid. Got excited about the Twin Cities when I visited BN Northtown Yard while in high school. A Riverrail invite in 2001 brought me a new way of looking at modeling and a great crew of friends. It also inspired a move that set me on a path to where I am today. Love to dispatch, yard switch, or just run across the territories!
