Wisconsin & Upper Michigan

The W&UM is set in the Marquette Range of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in the fall of 1982.  The railroad is protofreelanced based on the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic as if the Canadian Pacific hadn’t acquired majority ownership during the great depression.

The railroad has a good overhead traffic base but ore operations are featured with several mines and a 9-foot ore dock.  Ore is also interchanged with the Chicago & Northwestern and Lake Superior & Ishpeming.

The layout served me well for 25 years hosting 74 operating sessions, but after a final session in July 2024 the railroad was torn down.  It is being replaced by a new double deck version in the same area which will be running by late spring 2026…in time for Riverrail 2026!
