The Chicago & North Western Waseca Sub is currently in the planning stages and will focus operations on the Grain Facilities in Winona, Minnesota. Set in the fall of 1980-something when the harvest is in full swing the layout will feature heavy grain traffic feeding grain to Froedtert Malting, Bay State Milling, ADM and Cargill barge loading.
The C&NW will enter Winona from three locations – Eastbound trains from Rochester, Westbound trains from East Winona via the GB&W Bridge, and via the Milwaukee Road River Sub out of La Crosse. The railroad will also feature limited operations and interchange with the Milwaukee Road, Burlington Northern and Green Bay & Western.
Note: The image above is from my original version of the Waseca Sub that was torn down when I moved back to River Rail territory. I hope to recreate this scene on the new layout.
