Operating Sessions Calendar

This custom plugin was written by Shane Lambert. Originally created in January, 2001, the entire system was rewritten in September 2026 with additional features to allow layout owners more control over who can sign up for their sessions. This new version allows owners to stagger when specific users can sign up, setting a date for owners, local operators, and guest operators. Additionally, a new option to block users allows owners to prevent unwanted operators from attending their sessions.

Railroad Press

This custom plugin was written by Shane Lambert in 2015 to replace using pages for railroad information. This plugin allows owners to enter more specific information about their layout and creates custom templates to display the data. In 2026 additional features were added to automatically link railroads to the Operating Sessions calendar and the new Photo Gallery plugin so upcoming sessions and galleries can be automatically added to each railroad page.

Railroad Photo Galleries

This custom plugin was written by Shane Lambert in 2026 to replace the overly complicated NextGen Gallery. This plugin checks if the Railroad Press plugin is active and provides a list to owners of their railroads (auto selecting if there is only one) to automatically link the gallery to the railroad page. The photos are kept within the Media gallery, but any images assigned to a gallery are hidden in the media list so users can only add images to one gallery. This was done to simplify the media gallery for other pages.
