The installation of signals on the East End of the CB&Q has been going great. To date, we have installed signals from Cicero Jct. To the east side of Clarendon Hills. That’s a total of seven (7) bridges. Nancy has been cranking out bridges on a regular basis.
Although we’ve been checking signals out as they get installed, you can imagine how many possible combinations of switches, occupancy and signals there are with a triple mainline. Chris has done an amazing job of setting up the East End panel to be ready as signals are installed. One thing we can’t do with just a couple of us is run multiple trains that create various combinations of traffic on the railroad.
Chris has asked (and we totally agree) that it would be great if we could get a few operators on the railroad at the same time to put more combinations and stress on the system than we can do on a regular workday. We’re hoping to get together on Sunday, August 3rd for a few hours with whoever is willing to run some trains and help test out Chris’ creation. We’ll plan on starting around 11:00 or so and run for two or three hours. We’ll also throw in some lunch for those who make the trip.
Thanks a bunch in advance for your willingness to help out.
