Here Mike is working the east end of the La Crosse yard
Nice job on the scenery and weathering of the freight cars!
Dennis got to be Yard master today for both halves of Al's session. Dennis just loves this job!
Ed could only take dispatching for one half of the session. He wanted to do something else for the second half.
Looked like Iowa Dave was saluting in this photo. Dave worked Red Wing for this session and kept the cars and trains moving well!
Al looks happy in this photo!
Eastbound engine #7 is waiting for the westbound train to clear the main so it can continue on its journey.
Jeff "D" has control of an eastbound coal drag that just met a hot-shot westbound trailer train at Lake City with Drake as it engineer. I can see why there was a demand for a dispatcher change at the break. This hot-shot trailer train had to wait for two less priority trains to pass, before it could go on its way. Not the way to make money for the Milwaukee.
Paul fits under the pipe here at the west end of La Crosse yard. No need for a hard hat.
Poor service was the rule today at Red Wing. Amtrak passengers were made to walk across the ballast and tracks to get to the depot. Just take their money and kick them off the train! "Close enough to the station. At least they can see it!" shouted the conductor!!
Jeff "C" did some dispatching for the second half of the session. I heard the crews say that the trains were better dispatched in the second half than in the first half. "That is just what "I" heard." It might not have been an accurate statement. However, Jeff "C" did very well for his first time. He'll be 12 on the 30th. He has his own RiverRail access and can sign up for sessions on his own. It is nice to see kids in the hobby. And in case some people don't know who wrote all of this up, it was Jeffery's grandfather.
The CNW was just getting ready for its trip back home using trackage rights on the Milwaukee.
