Bob Brant working the River City Grain Turn in East Winona (East Y).
"THE Yardmaster" Dennis Weber actually ran the yard today. He's all smiles- things must be going well.
Randy Doman took the westbound local (11813). He is working at Cochrane.
Canadian National train 341 is rolling through Bay City.
Shane Lambert is in charge of CN 341 while Bob is still working RCGT in East Y.
Neil Roggensack manned the dispatcher desk today. Even though Neil was on "soda", it was an interesting afternoon for the crews.
Shane is in the hole at Bay City with Train X04.
Paul Hackner is on the eastbound local (11814). Looks like he is working the industries in Pepin.
Dennis is working North La Crosse on the lower level while Randy and Ryan are passing through Alma with 11813 on the upper level.
Trempealeau Dave Waraxa is all smiles... must be because his train (#8) is passing up Shane's train (X04) in Bay City. The crew of X04 gets a laugh as well as the 8 has to hold on the main in Bay City while the 11814 works Pepin.
Randy is still holding the main in Alma. Looks like he will be moving soon as he's copying orders.
Train 11813 in Alma.
The geeps are about to cross the Chippewa River.
Another view of the local nearing the Chippewa River.
Train #8 on the main in Bay City passing X04 who's on the siding. Notes Added By Shane: The X04 and the 8 are sitting in Alma waiting for the 11814 that is working in Pepin. The tail end of the 11814 can be seen just in front of the 8 on the main line. The crew of X04 parked their lead loco alongside the hack of 11814. The crew of 8 got a real surprise as 11814 started shoving their train back towards Bay City without checking for clear track!
Laura Lambert is passing through East Winona with an Expediter (#41).
Call out the FRA!! The stack train #8 had orders to La Crosse. Local 11814 had orders for working in the siding, but did not have orders to foul the main at Cochrane. After applying the emergency brakes, the stack train slid to a hault just in time to avoid disaster. Nobody was injured in this incident. This accident is under investigation as to WHY Local 11814 was on the main!!!
Now we know who's fault it was. At least we manage to have a little fun while we operate. That is what this is all about!!!
