Shane did a super job for me today as trainmaster. I had great "chair" time today because of my helpers.
Steve took the mill job today. Lots to do there all while coordinating moves with the Troy switcher and dispatcher.
Mike's dad, John, was given the MRL jobs today. It helps to have your son dispatching so there was very little time in the "hole" for John today. John made the trip from Tennessee with Mike and saw his digital car thermometer drop below zero for the first time. He really doesn't want to see that again anytime soon. Look at the bright side John, no bugs on your windshield!!
Al was the yard master today and Randall was his helper. He gave me some suggestions for some paperwork, as to what would be helpful for the next person who took this job.
Dennis finally got a chance to do his dream job. Ever since I changed things in this area, as far as the amount of work this train now does, he always drew a bad card. I found a "programming mistake" with the settings for this train and it will now move the grain cars for even more work at this location. My duh with the error!
Nice to see Shawn at this session today. He was the Troy yardmaster for the first half of the session. Randy appears to be running through and Steve was making moves on the mill side of the main.
Being stuck at Ramsey was no big deal today.
Al, second shift helper Shawn, Winona Dave, Neil and Tristan were all at Hauser doing some work. Still adjusting traffic flow so this job will slowly be busier over time.
George is crossing the Bow River heading into Pine Grove.
Neil has a lot on his mind now that he has a chance to build his "final" (retirement) layout. Neil helped me with the beer supply today. Thanks Neil!!
I need a bigger white board. It is a nice problem to have I guess. As this layout has evolved over the past couple of years, the jobs have changed a bit and this board has become just a bit too small.
George had the pleasure of green boards with this train.
Jeff took the second shift Troy yardmaster job and Steve had his first shift job again for the second half of the session.
Mike's dad took a few minutes and helped himself to the "grazing table". Always enough to feast on for this session.
Here is a very good shot of the dispatchers screen. I use CATS for my modern CTC panel.
