RiverRail road trip to Denver

When: Friday, September 8th, 2017 from 12:00 pm to Sunday, September 10th, 2017 at 12:00 pm

All.  A few of us operated on the layouts in the Denver area in the past and we all agreed on how much fun it would be to run the layouts with a bunch of our guys.  So I contacted John Denny and John Parker and they suggested early September for the ops weekend.  For those who contacted me about their desire to go, please sign up here.  Let’s hope we can have a good turnout for this road trip.

The only question mark will be Saturday morning’s layout.  Saturday mornings layout will be decided by how many are going to make the trip out west.  So for now, here are the three layouts we have confirmation on.  Friday afternoon we operate on John Denny’s ATSF, Raton Pass layout near Pueblo.  Saturday late afternoon or early evening we will operate on Doug Geiger’s Granite Mountain Railway.  Sunday morning we will be at John Parker’s BNSF Fall River division.  Both of these super layouts have some photos on the Rocky Op North 2017 web page.  Saturday morning’s layout is dependent on how many will be making the trip out west.  Time will tell what layout we will be operating on and the closer we get to the date, the better I will know how many and what layout we will be at.

About Dave Waraxa

Freelancing the BNSF out west in the Kootenai River sub. First train, a Lionell, when I was too young to remember. I remember the orange handle made the whistle blow. Got my first H.O. train set when I turned 8. I remember riding to North Main Hobbies in Racine that day, 57 years ago. If I can remember all that how come I cannot remember what did I did yesterday?
