ROAD TRIP John Goodhart is hosting a session for Riverrail on his LEC&S railroad located in Lombard IL. on August 27,2016. We will car pool down and back, lunch at Portillo’s, a brief stop at Lombard Hobbies then the LEC&S. The LECS is a Class 1 railroad set in 1969 located in central Ohio and runs from Cincinnati Ohio to Columbus Ohio via Dayton (Glenwood Yard) on former Erie Lackawanna trackage. The railroad interchanges with B&O, C&O, N&W, SOU, and the PRR. The layout offers a good mixture of mainline running, local switching, and an active main classification yard with a mix of coal, general manifest, and light passenger trains. With over 600 feet of mainline, the main classification on yard is located in the center of the layout, and is the division point of the railroad. The B&O, C&O, N&W, & SOU share trackage rights across the railroad.
